NexGen Four™

The NexGen Four™ analyser is manufactured by Adaltis and CE marked with respect to the In Vitro Diagnostic Devices Directive (98/79/EC). The NexGen Four™ analyser was launched in the UK in January 2006 as part of Cambridge Life Sciences’ innovative diagnostic solution.

This recent alliance with Adaltis Inc. increases its ELISA product range and gives exclusive access to the NexGen Four™ microplate analyser.

This innovative instrument incorporates cutting-edge software and hardware technology as well as the experience built by Adaltis over the past 15 years with more than 4000 automated analysers installed in nearly 60 countries worldwide and has been developed with the needs of the end user in mind. The system includes optimised reagent performance, high sample throughput and an easy-to-use, Windows based software interface making it possible to process up to 360 samples, or 16 different assays per session.

It is the only system currently available that has the capability to run 4 different microplates simultaneously; this feature can dramatically speed up the time to result, which is so important in a busy laboratory.
Each step is fully programmable.

Description

Robotic arms

2 independent robotic arms allow the dispensing of samples and reagents in 2 microplates simultaneously saving up to 45 minutes for a full load run.

Sample carousel

The centrally located sample carousel, accessible simultaneously by both robotic arms, has a capacity of up to 240 samples tubes (10-16 mm diameter).
The carousel is composed of 8 extractable sectors for easy loading.

Sample tubes

The sample carousel holds 120 primary tubes (10-16 mm diameter). Up to 3 carousels can be loaded per session; equivalent to 360 primary tubes.

Predilution tubes

The sample carousel holds 120 predilution tubes (12 mm diameter). Up to 3 carousels can be loaded per session; equivalent to 360 predilution tubes

Reagent racks

2 separate reagent racks. The capacity of each rack is:

  1. 34 disposable 3.5 ml cups for calibrators and controls
  2. 8 disposable 35 ml containers for reagents
  3. 3 disposable 75 ml containers for reagents
